Summer Job Opportunity

Whitby Courthouse Theatre is seeking enthusiastic, organized, and passionate individuals with experience in youth education and either music (singing, piano) and/or dance (including choreography) for a paid summer job opportunity.

This 2-week program runs July 8-19, and works towards mounting a full production of a 60-minute musical. Successful applicants will work as either Music Director or Choreographer to plan and lead rehearsals, and work with the rest of the creative team to create and organize daily activities for participants. They will also be responsible for teaching fundamental skills, and fostering a supportive and collaborative environment for our young performers.

Whitby Courthouse Theatre is dedicated to establishing a safe and inclusive space for all patrons and participants.

Requirements:

  • Experience in singing/piano and/or dance/choreography.

  • Experience in working with youth

  • Ability to lead rehearsals and work effectively in a team environment.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Passion for working with youth and helping them explore their creative potential.

  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the program.

Successful candidates will be required to read, and agree to, all Whitby Courthouse Theatre by-laws, policies, and the Code of Conduct, and undergo Vulnerable Sector Screening.
