CALL FOR TEAMS: 2026/2027 SEASON

Whitby Courthouse Theatre is excited to invite applications for the artistic teams of all shows in our 26/27 season. We are looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to collaborate on creating memorable theatrical experiences for our community. Whether you have years of experience, or are a newcomer eager to contribute, we welcome your skills and creative energy!

Applicants can apply as part of a fully formed team, a partial team, or individually. All applications will be considered equally.

  • A brief statement outlining your interest in what show(s) and role(s) you would like to be considered for, as well as any relevant experience or information you feel would best represent your vision and how you would approach the position.

  • If applying as a team, provide a list of team members and their respective roles.

Eligibility:

  • Experience in the specific role is preferred but not required for all positions. We welcome all skill levels and encourage those with a willingness to learn and grow in a collaborative environment.

  • A strong passion for theatre and community involvement is a must.

  • As always, Whitby Courthouse Theatre is open to all ethnicities and genders.

  • Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? is a dark, emotionally charged drama that follows a married couple over the course of a late-night gathering where reality and illusion blur. As their guests become entangled in their psychological games, long-buried truths surface, exposing the fragility of relationships and the cost of living in denial.

  • Big Fish is a heartfelt, imaginative musical that follows a son trying to understand his larger-than-life father, whose fantastical stories blur the line between truth and myth. As the father’s life draws to a close, their journey reveals the power of storytelling, memory, and the enduring bonds between parent and child.

  • Baby Taj is a lively, thoughtful comedy about a travel writer who escapes to India just as her best friend embraces impending motherhood. Caught between cultures, expectations, and her own uncertainty, she’s forced to reckon with the choices that define adulthood and the different paths women take toward fulfillment.

  • Once Upon a One More Time is a high-energy jukebox musical that reimagines classic fairy tale princesses as they question the stories they’ve been given. When a new book introduces them to modern ideas of independence and self-worth, they begin rewriting their own happily-ever-afters through friendship, empowerment, and iconic pop hits.

  • Company is a witty, introspective musical that follows Bobby, a single New Yorker navigating the complexities of relationships through a series of encounters with their married friends. As they observe their joys and struggles, the show becomes a candid exploration of love, commitment, and the fear of being alone versus the risk of letting someone in.
