CHESS AUDITIONS

Synopsis: This exciting rock musical transforms the ancient game into a lively metaphor for romantic rivalries, competitive spirit, superpower politics, and international intrigue. Spanning from Bangkok to Budapest, players, lovers, politicians, and spies all find themselves entangled in a web of manipulation, set to a captivating score featuring “One Night in Bangkok” and “Heaven Help My Heart.”

Audition Overview: We welcome performers of all experience levels to join us!

Auditions are Monday, May 4th and Wednesday, May 6th from 6-9 p.m. 

Callbacks are Saturday, May 9th from 12-3 p.m. 

Please prepare two contrasting songs with one being pop/rock. Each song selection should be approximately 16-32 bars in length (30-60 seconds). We may only ask for one song, but please make sure you have both prepared. Please bring sheet music in the correct key, properly marked (cuts clearly marked, tempo marking), and fastened in a binder for the accompanist. Songs should showcase your vocal range and storytelling ability. You may be given redirects of your song so please make sure you are really comfortable with it. All individuals auditioning may be asked to do a basic range test.
