CALL FOR EDUCATION INSTRUCTORS: 2026/2027 SEASON
Whitby Courthouse Theatre is excited to invite applications to direct the fall teen education program’s one-act play in our 26/27 season. We are looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to collaborate on creating memorable educational theatrical experiences for teens. Whether you have years of experience or are a newcomer eager to contribute, we welcome your skills and creative energy!
Application Details
Applicants are welcome to apply as a team of two or as an individual. All applications will be considered equally.
Program Details:
Dates: September 19th - December 12th (No class October 10th for Thanksgiving)
Times: Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (One Friday rehearsal 6-10 p.m.)
Dress Rehearsal/Move-In: Friday, December 11th 6-10 p.m.
Performance Date: Saturday, December 12th 7 p.m.
Ages: 13-18 (Grade 7 - Grade 12)
Number of participants: 20-25

A brief statement outlining any relevant experience or information you feel would best represent your vision and how you would approach the program.
Eligibility:
Experience in theatre education is preferred but not required for all positions. We welcome all skill levels and encourage those with a willingness to learn and grow in a collaborative environment.
A strong passion for theatre, teaching, and community involvement is a must.
As always, Whitby Courthouse Theatre is open to all ethnicities and genders.
Application deadline: August 10th, 2026 (interviews will be held the week of August 17th)
Honorarium: $1000/instructor (up to 2 - this can be 2 co-directors, or a director/stage manager team)
