Pippin Auditions Now Open for Young Performers

Pippin is a musical about a young prince searching for his place in the world and the secret to true happiness. A troupe of actors, led by a Leading Player, guides (and manipulates) Pippin through various experiences, including war, politics, and love, only for him to realize that fulfillment comes not from the extraordinary, but from the ordinary moments of life.

A dazzling blend of spectacle and soul, Pippin invites you to question what a meaningful life really looks like — and whether the spotlight’s brightest moments come at too high a price.

Groundhog Day

How would you spend your time if forced to repeat the same day over and over again? Phil Connors, a seasoned big-city weatherman, is frustrated to be to reporting the annual Groundhog Day Ceremony in small town Punxsutawney, PA. His arrogance and cynicism are in direct opposition to the cheery townsfolk, who are ready for their favorite Groundhog to not see his shadow and welcome an early spring. After disdainfully covering the rodent's negative forecast, he awakens the next day only to discover it's February 2 once more. Initially in disbelief, Phil finally accepts he is doomed to repeat the same day over and over again....

Whitby Courthouse Theatre has been producing high-quality entertainment in Whitby for over 70 years, and for that we rely on our community, members, and volunteers.

Whether you are new to theatre or a seasoned pro, we appreciate the opportunity to have you share your skills or learn new ones while volunteering with us on our productions.
We have opportunities in various areas of the theatre. Those interested in working directly on productions can volunteer as a team member. You may also be interested in volunteering for Front of House, on the Board, or as a Coordinator.
Students are able to earn community service hours towards their diploma requirements at Whitby Courthouse Theatre.

Our main objectives are to consistently provide high-quality theatre and theatrical education to our community.
Members are able to participate in our productions, receive voting rights, and are eligible to run for positions on the Board of Directors (subject to Whitby Courthouse Theatre bylaws).
