Whitby Courthouse Theatre relies on its members to volunteer their time and expertise to produce its shows, it also recognizes that certain personnel may be deserving of a monetary token in recognition of their particular area of expertise.

Rationale

This policy serves to establish principles on which all persons are expected to conduct themselves to ensure Whitby Courthouse Theatre is a safe and respectful environment for all.

Honoraria for Production Personnel

Individuals selected to perform the positions listed below may receive the following honoraria for their services. If more than one individual performs a role, then the honoraria is split between the individuals.

  • Rehearsal Pianist – $1,000
  • Conductor / Musician – $50 for each public performance; $50 for each rehearsal (with a maximum of 4 paid rehearsals).
  • Other (see below) – $300

Circumstances may require additional individuals in a production to receive honoraria for highly specialized skills, such as a fight coordinator or dialect coach. Standard production roles do not qualify under this provision. The Producer would submit a request to the Executive Producer, and the honorarium would be issued at the discretion of the Board of Directors. The amount of the honorarium would not exceed the maximum honorarium listed above, and the production would be required to stay within its approved budget.

The honoraria for each production will be included in the finalized house budget.

Letter of Agreement

Producers, Directors, and Stage Managers, and any individual receiving an honorarium will sign a Letter of Agreement with Whitby Courthouse Theatre agreeing to the expectations of their role. The letter will be co-signed by the President or designate.

It is the responsibility of the Treasurer to ensure that each individual entitled to an honorarium receives it.
