All members are encouraged to attend. In order to be eligible to vote or run for a Board position, you must be at least 18 years of age and have been a member in good standing on or before June 14th, 2020.
September 15-30, 2020 is the official transition period and duties for newly elected Board members will commence on October 1, 2020.
All Board positions are two-year terms. The following positions are up for election in 2020:
Overall responsibility for Whitby Courthouse Theatre. Chairs monthly Board meetings along with initial approval of the agenda. The sole contact to the Town of Whitby, including but not limited to permits, facility maintenance and Town Council. Controller of facility key distribution and building security codes. Creator of calendar of events no later than 10 months prior to season opening for permit requests. Responsible for arranging or delegating all legal binding contracts and licenses. Familiar with all policies and bylaws and ensuring they are being followed.
Responsible for day-to-day treasury functions (receivables, payables) functions, as well as accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, statutory compliance, tax filings, banking and vendor relationships, merchant services. Additionally, the Treasurer is responsible for ongoing reporting and recommendation to the board, including annual preparation of proposed financial plan and budget.
Responsible for developing a process for choosing the production slate for Board approval. Following the approved process to choose the following season’s slate for Board approval. Chair director interviews for following season. Assist the Executive Producer, Directors and production Producers to find designers (if required).
Responsible for the development of a promotional campaign for each production within the Board-approved budget. Work with the Webmasters to implement social media campaigns and eBlasts.
